Refreshed NextGen Examinees’ Guide Published

A refreshed version of the Official Examinees’ Guide to the NextGen UBE, July 2026–February 2027, is now available on the NCBE website. The latest edition of the Guide includes a current map of NextGen UBE jurisdictions, updated links to NCBE web pages, and information about the results of the NextGen UBE beta administration. No changes have been made to exam policies, structure, content, or scoring.  

Originally published last August, the Guide is designed as a companion for examinees who are preparing to take the NextGen UBE in July 2026 or February 2027. It provides an overview of the exam’s structure, timing, content, and grading; details about the exam registration process, pre-exam requirements, and what to expect on exam day; and an attorney admissions road map that highlights key steps for law students and graduates to take each year.
