Character and Fitness Investigations

NCBE provides character and fitness services for the following applicant types in Washington:

• Attorney
• Foreign-Educated/Foreign-Licensed
• Admission by Transferred UBE Score
• In-House Counsel

How to Apply

NCBE does not conduct investigations for all applicant types; note that some types may have different filing instructions. Application filing instructions should be obtained by contacting Washington.

Application and Fee

The application and mailing instructions should be obtained by contacting Washington. Completing and submitting a character and fitness application is only part of the bar application process.
