The National Conference of Bar Examiners is seeking candidates for the position of President and Chief Executive Officer

The National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) office is located in Madison, Wisconsin. NCBE, founded in 1931, is a not-for-profit corporation that develops licensing tests for bar admission and provides character and fitness investigation services. NCBE also provides testing, research and educational services to jurisdictions, and acts as a national clearinghouse for information about the bar examination. 

The President is the Chief Executive of NCBE who devotes full time to managing its affairs and carrying out the policies and programs of NCBE established by its Board of Trustees. The President sets the tone for creating trusting relationships with constituents by ensuring that test products and services are of the highest quality.

In addition to a J.D. degree from an accredited law school, the President should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience that includes management or other leadership of a complex business entity, an organization in the legal profession (e.g., law firm, law school or bar admissions authority) or an organization involved in high-stakes testing. That experience should reflect responsibility for supervision of staff, budgeting, communications with external stakeholders, and public speaking.
