* We advise individuals requesting accommodations to submit their request as far in advance of their desired test administration as possible, and preferably by the Recommended Submission Date for that administration.
Once you receive notice of our accommodations decision, schedule your test appointment with Pearson VUE as soon as you can. While the registration deadline is several weeks prior to the test administration, some test accommodations may take longer for the Pearson VUE testing center to arrange. If you wait until the last minute to schedule your test appointment, you run the risk of not being able to test on your preferred test date, at your preferred location, and/or at your preferred test time.
Some accommodations require custom testing materials and/or arrangements and additional preparation time. Please refer to your Accommodations Confirmation, posted in your NCBE Account File Cabinet, for additional instructions if applicable.
Applicants whose requests are received after the Recommended Submission Date run the risk of not having a final decision in time to reserve a seat at their preferred test location on their preferred test date. It typically takes NCBE at least 25 business days to review your request. The later that applicants submit their requests after the Recommended Submission Date, the greater the chance that they will not receive a decision in sufficient time to enable Pearson VUE to arrange for and prepare approved accommodations by their desired test administration. In that event, you may still test under standard conditions (without accommodations). You may also choose to postpone taking the exam until the next test administration (refer to the Important Dates table above).
Also, note that if your request is denied or only partially approved, an appeal or request for reconsideration of our decision may take an additional 25 business days to review. Please keep this in mind when considering when to submit your request for accommodations. Absolutely no new registrations will be accepted after the registration deadline (see MPRE Registration Information).
Test appointments can be rescheduled for a different appointment time or a different testing center location for the same test administration for which you originally registered. If you reschedule, you must pay a non-refundable and non-transferable fee. If you need to reschedule your appointment, we strongly recommend that you do so at least two weeks prior to the exam administration to enable Pearson VUE to prepare approved accommodations.
