|August 11/12, 2020||May 14, 2020||June 25, 2020|

Once you receive notice of our accommodations decision, if you agree to accept the approved accommodations, do not wait to schedule your test appointment with Pearson VUE. While the registration deadline is several weeks prior to the test administration, some test accommodations may take longer for the Pearson VUE testing center to arrange. If you wait until the last minute to schedule your test appointment, you run the risk of not being able to test on your preferred test date, at your preferred location, and/or at your preferred test time.
Some accommodations require custom testing materials and/or arrangements and additional preparation time. Please refer to your Accommodations Confirmation, posted in your NCBE Account File Cabinet, for additional instructions if applicable.
Applicants whose requests are received after the Recommended Submission Date run the risk of not having time to reserve a seat with their approved accommodations. Please keep in mind that it typically takes NCBE at least 25 business days to review your request. Therefore, applicants who submit requests after the Recommended Submission Date, and in particular less than 25 days before the Registration Deadline, run a high risk of not receiving a decision in sufficient time to enable Pearson VUE to prepare their approved accommodations by their preferred test day. In that event, you may still test under standard conditions (without accommodations). You may also choose to postpone taking the exam until the next test administration (refer to the Important Dates table above).
Also, note that if your request is denied or only partially approved, an appeal or request for reconsideration of our decision may take an additional 25 business days to review. Please keep this in mind when considering when to submit your request for accommodations. NOTE: There are no exceptions to the Registration Deadline.
Test appointments can be rescheduled for a different appointment time or a different testing center location for the same test administration for which you originally registered. If you reschedule, you must pay a non-refundable and non-transferable fee. If you need to reschedule your appointment, we strongly recommend that you do so at least two weeks prior to the exam administration to enable Pearson VUE to prepare approved accommodations.
